Promoted by Tantia family, GPT Healthcare Private Limited is a part of the GPT group based out of East India. GPT Healthcare is a chain of multi-specialty hospitals in East India operating under the brand name of ILS Hospitals. It commissioned its first hospital in Salt Lake, Kolkata in 2000 and currently owns and operates 3 hospitals, out of which 2 are in Kolkata (Salt Lake and Dum Dum) and 1 in North-East India (Agartala), with an overall capacity of around 400 beds. Over the years, the group has evolved from a family managed business to a professionally run company with the backing of experienced promoters and from a single laparoscopic surgery centre to a multi-specialty healthcare chain.

Apart from the 3 hospitals, the Company also owns a 1.2MW windmill, a nursing hostel in Kolkata and a nursing school in Agartala. The Company is a part of Kolkata based GPT Group, which has businesses in infrastructure, real estate, manufacturing and healthcare. The infrastructure entity, GPT Infraprojects Limited is the flagship company of the Group and listed on the stock exchange in India. An investment by BanyanTree will be utilized towards setting up new facilities. BanyanTree has a representation on the Board.
