Kalpena Industries, is one of the leading polymer compound manufacturing company in India. Kalpena manufactures PVC, XLPE and semicon compounds, which finds application in the power cable, packaging and footwear industries.

The power cable industry which is dependent on the growth in the power sector, contributes more than 2/3rd to Kalpena’s revenues. The current power shortage in the country and the improving competitive position of Kalpena will lead to strong growth for company’s products.

With the aim to strengthen its dominant position, Kalpena plans to increase its polymer compound manufacturing capacities and move along the value chain by setting up facilities to manufacture heat shrink cable joint tape and insulators for high voltage applications. The capacity addition plans of Kalpena will be funded by the infusion of growth capital by BanyanTree.

Kalpena is a Bombay Stock Exchange listed company and BanyanTree will have a representation on the Board.
